Welcome!
The Los Angeles Chapter of the American Orff Schulwerk Association is a professional organization which aims to further the approach to music and movement education advocated by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman. We believe that through active singing, speaking, playing, moving, listening, and creating, true music education is experienced. LACAOSA was established in 1973 and moved to our present location at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music in 2014. Most of our members are elementary music education specialists, but we also provide professional development for many classroom and preschool teachers, as well. We offer teachers four Saturday workshops per year, given by nationally and internationally respected Orff educators. We also offer a summer program of Orff Levels instruction. New to Orff? An excellent description and introductory video can be found on the website of our national organization. Just click on What is Orff Schulwerk? |
