Mary E Knysh is the founder of Rhythmic Connections, (www.rhythmicconnections.com) an innovative company advancing education, health, and creative development through drum circles and music improvisation. Mary is a cutting edge workshop facilitator with a specialty in education, trainer and consultant who uses music as a means for personal and organizational transformation through creativity, leadership and non‐verbal communications. She is a professional musician; recording artist and international author. An international teacher/trainer with the Music for People organization, Mary is also an Orff Schulwerk clinician and teaching artist for the Pennsylvania Council of the Arts, Young Audiences of NJ, and New York BOCES. Rhythm Band Instruments, Toca drum company, and Peripole Music endorse her. Mary travels throughout the United States, Europe and Asia offering conference presentations, clinics, teacher-trainings, performances and workshops.

The African-American style of stepping and gumboot style of South Africa will begin our musical journey. Come prepared to sing and move together as we explore these rich cultural traditions. |
Kimberly Collins is a National Board Certified music educator living in Little Rock, AR. A national workshop presenter,
Dr. Collins has taught choral and general music and fine arts to elementary and middle level students for over 25
years in rural and urban public schools in Arkansas. With a doctorate in Teacher Leadership, she is a Certified AOSA
Teacher Educator of Movement and Basic Pedagogy. A self-described “Orff baby”, the elements of the Schulwerk of
singing, speaking, moving, drama, and playing instruments resonated with her as a child in the elementary
classroom. She strives to further those interactive experiences with learners of all ages to engage bodies, minds, and
hearts.

Moving through Our World with Stories
Learn how to listen to a story with your body. Experience our family’s story of the Japanese American Internment that began at the Santa Anita Race Track during WWII. Learn ways to sing, move, and guide improvisations through our world of stories as we honor multiple perspectives. With a focus on diversity and inclusion, learn playful strategies for facilitating connection with stories and people, weaving past and present into a collective vision for the future.
Mika Inouye is a performing artist and educator in Durango, Colorado, USA. She dances with 20MOONS Dance Theater and teaches inclusive creative dance classes and K-6 music and movement for Durango Public Schools. She is the movement instructor at Orff Schulwerk levels courses in Los Angeles County and at Old Dominion University. Mika is the founding president of the Four Corners Orff Chapter and regularly presents at AOSA national conferences and internationally, including in New Zealand, Kuwait, Hong Kong and the Czech Republic. She performs regularly as a pianist and harpsichordist with the San Juan Symphony series and with Inouye Six Hands.
Sarah Inouye Mano has bachelor's and master's degrees in piano performance and is a nationally certified piano teacher through Music Teachers National Association. As a Registered Children's Yoga Teacher (RCYT), Sarah teaches early childhood music and movement classes and presents at local and national conferences. As a past president of the Utah State Orff Chapter, she continues to serve on the board to help organize and present teacher workshops for elementary education across Utah. She currently performs with Inouye Six Hands and is working on a project to research, perform, and teach the unique genre of six-hand repertoire to students and teachers.

If you hit Colorado, you went too far. From Orange County and the South: Either take the 405 Freeway North to the 10 East to the 110 North to the 5 North to the 2 North to the 134 East or the 5 Freeway North to the 2 North to the 134 East and then follow the directions above. |
